    Hello Everyone.
I just got my first cell phone from US Cellular. Its a Nokia 3685i.
I purchased it to use to hookup up to my laptop when I am on the road for
accessing the internet and sending and receiving email. My understanding is
that I will need a Nokia DKU-5 data cable.

Can I do it all with this phone?
Is there anything else I will need?
Will it cost extra to use on my phone?
Where can I get the cable at a reasonable price?

I asked the US Cellular Rep., but he was not sure what is required or if it
    would work. (He was new)

    HELP!
I only have 7 days left (14 return policy) to return the phone.

Yes, a hell of a lot extra. You will be charged either for data sent, which
is usually around $2/mb, or through time, which makes it very expensive, as
you will only attain speeds of around 44 kbit/sec max, 14400 nominal

I though, I could simply plug the DKU-5 cable into my computer and have the
computer dial through the phone my local ISP's number.

I noticed when I go to computer shows, that they have their laptops or
credit card terminals hooked up to their everyday cell ohones.

    And you still bought it?
I would have demanded to speak to someone who had the answers.
