Thinking of transferring my Verizon# to my Sprint account. What has been the
experience of anyone doing this & how long does it take? I have a Treo 600
that I am considering using as my primary cell phone & will need to transfer
my Verizon number, which is my business cell carrier at this time.

Someone recently reported it took 3 or 4 days to port into SPCS. It might be
quicker than that no, but then again ...

As to your Treo 600, unless that's a branded SPCS phone, SPCS will not
activate it on their system. Are you talking about porting a landline number
to SPCS or Verizon wireless to SPCS.

    Bob,

    Thanks for your quick reply...

I'm talking about porting my "Verizon Wireless" cell phone number over to my
Sprint account. I want my Treo 600, a Sprint Phone, to be able to use my
Verizon number on my Sprint Treo 600. Once completed I would cancel my
    verizon wireless account.

Anytime Tom ... Just make sure to start the process by calling SPCS to have
them initiate the paperwork, and what ever you do, don't call Verizon to
cancel your account. If you do, before the porting process is complete, you
will lose your Verizon telephone number.

Once Verizon sends your number over to SprintPCS, they would close your
account, bill you for that whole month, and issue a final invoice, which
includes an Early Termination Fee if appropriate.

The carriers all don't have their ducks in a row yet for protability.
Next to zero PORTs happen in the 3 1/2 hour time frame the FCC thought
was reasonable. And its guaranteed to take two or three days to port
into SprintPCS if you start it over the weekend. And then even after
porting is completed SprintPCS may not properly update all their
databases, so your phone may work, but calls to star 2, will
go to Porting resolution in the Phillipines.

Well, I see you finally admit that there was no regulation mandating a 3 1/2
hour port. I guess this shows that even the thinking-impaired can learn a
    thing or two.

And this is your second post about being transferred to the Phillipines,
which we now know is for porting issues. You obviously couldn't believe the
    crap you posted yourself.
