Its like when I was looking for a Sanyo 6400, and someone said call the
Sprint stores and see if they have any on hand. I've read too many
stories of reps saying "Sure come on down" just to get you in the store
and try to sell you something else to ever do that.

The Santa Monica Sprint PCS Store now has version V1115SP09a of the
    software for the Sanyo 8100.

I went to that store in Santa Monica for an update once and had to wait
in line for about 20 minutes and then another 45 minutes after that
while the phone was being updated. Plus I had to keep putting change in
the parking meter. Then I went to the store in Westminster for another
update and there was no line to wait in and they did the update within
15 minutes. Plenty of free parking also.

And you believed them when they told you they didn't? They were just

Any chance you could work your magic on the Nashua, NH store ?

I have made two trips already and still no luck. First time I waited 35 mins
to be told they don't do upgrades after 7:30 pm (it was after 7:45pm - I had
been waiting since 7:10pm). Went back the next day, waited 10 mins, the CSR
filled out the tech slip/form, took it in to the tech, came back wiht the
phone and said they don't have it. @!$#@!#

I thought that was just a sales kiosk, or am I thinking about the one in
    Manchester?

They have had a kiosk in the Pheasant Lane Mall there for a while, but also
opened a full-fledged store a year (or maybe two?) ago.

    Address pulled from the website:

    254 Daniel Webster Highway

I called my sprint store and they knew exactly what I was talking about.
They said the process would take about 30 mins. I live in the Des Moines,
    Iowa areaif anyone is interested.

I love the 8100 upgrade Lots of new, cool features that i am making
    use of.

The store said they had the newest version, and didnt give me any
trouble. They wanted me to drop off my phone for 2 hours and come
back, which i agreed to. Probably didn't take that long though

Doubt it, depending on stock (and they're well stocked on the 8100)
phones with the current software may not appear on the shelves for a few
    months.
