Back Up Application Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
- Turn on “Backup account” and “Back up my data”
Back Up Contacts:
- Make sure the Butterfly 3 is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen and access “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
- Turn on “Automatic Backup” to allow daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Butterfly 3 to your Mac via USB
- Swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)” or “disk drive” is enabled
- Open the file explorer on the Mac
- Locate the desired media files on the phone, and copy them
- Paste the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
- After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “Trash can” icon
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Butterfly 3 and PC
- Swipe the “Status” bar down and enable “Media device (MTP)” / “disk drive” if necessary
- Open File Explorer on the PC and locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer
- After finishing the transfer, eject the phone storage via the system tray, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
