    Re: problem with sim

Have you tried the sim card in another phone? If it works, then its not the sim card. If it is the sim card, you can go into a local Cingular dealer or on Ebay and purchase a new sim card. If you buy it at a dealer they should be able to activate it for you, and if you buy online then just call CS to activate it.

    Re: problem with sim

You need to call Cingular and have them registered your sim card in their system.

Oh I see, you already have a new sim card. Tony is correct, just call CS and they will ask for the sim card number(located on the sim card) and then activate it for you.

not understanding you, do you mean when you put the sim card in your phone you have no service? are you getting any error messages?

You will need to check your network setting, and make certain that the frequency that your provider uses, is the one that your cellular provider uses in the are where you live. Set to the wrong operating frequency, the phone will show that there is no service and that it can not connect to a service, after seaching for a while.

Example if you are in the USA, the Frequency band should be set to 850/1900mhz

If you are in Europe, the Frequency band should be set to 900/1800mhz

    Re: problem with sim

If you don't have the correct network setting your phone will simply not have any signal, it will not show a "no service message" as long as you're using the correct sim card for the carrier you are using.
