NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up data on the HTC One M9s.
Restore App Data:
- Ensure your phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Access “Settings”
- Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
- Tap “Restore from HTC Backup”
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete the restore
Restore Contacts:
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts & sync”
- If necessary, register the Google account you used for backing up the contacts
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync all”
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the One M9s to your computer via USB
- Drag the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media device” or “disk drive” is enabled
- Open an Explorer window on the PC
- Locate the media files backed up on your computer
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Connect the One M9s to your Mac using the USB cord
- Make sure the device is connected as “Media device” or “disk drive”
- Launch the file explorer on the Mac and locate the media file backups
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder
- After the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive into the “Trash can” icon to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
