Now days. Top of the line computers come with 12 gigs of ram. Which really means. No page file. But yeah. 6 gigs is like only 100 dollars, and thats ddr3

It depends on what you are planning to do with your computer. If you are just doing normal office stuff, 4GB will be too much. If you are into gaming on the other hand, 4GB is pretty common.
